The One Where Amazing Happened

Game 2 of the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals. The visiting Orlando Magic lead the series 1-0 against the hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.

The crowd has been nervous all game as the Magic have methodically chipped away what had been a 23 point Cavaliers lead in the 1st quarter. The score is tied and The Magic have possession with under 10 seconds to go in the final quarter. Hedo Turkoglu makes a strong push towards the basket, pops up and makes a clutch jumper at the top of the key with defenders in his face. 1 second left on the game clock.

The Cavs call timeout. The fans in the Quicken Loans Arena are crushed as The Magic are now up 2 and are looking to have a commanding lead in the series as they travel back home for game 3 in the best of 7 series. This game feels over. With only 1 second on the clock, do the Cavs lay down?

Amazing

I'll admit, Cleveland really needs to step up their game as a team if they are going to win this series against Orlando. Their perimeter shooting has been on point and The Cavs are going to need to contain that somehow. They just can't expect King James to bail them out every game. Cleveland's back is against the wall but I'm hoping they find a way to the finals this year. Long live the King in Cleveland...

...cuz that's how I roll.
