The One About Modern Warfare 2

I spotted this trailer watching the NBA playoffs. This game looks off the hook, yo.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare by Infinity Ward was an excellent game. I always preferred the modern shooters over the WWII stuff...

The One With Some Crazy Combos

These combo exhibitions are great. As someone who played Capcom fighting games back before Youtube, footage like this was not easy to come by. You young guys, new to Street Fighter, have got it good.

CO: mrwhitefolks and www.pimp-productions.com

CO: Blazt The Speakerz and CSVagrant at Fighters Evolution

I'm gonna have to do some serious practice if I'm gonna learn how to perform these combos. If you wanna come test me, my XBL Gamertag is "Casino 21". I ain't scared of nobody...

The One Where Mal Is A Green Lantern

Looks like the time for DC's galactic superhero, Green Lantern, has come. Warner Bros "green lit" the movie project in March of this year and is looking to begin production in September. For comic book nerds, myself included, this movie adaptation has been a long time coming.

With it's rejuvenated book sales and advances in Hollywood special effects, Green Lantern is poised to be DC's next big movie franchise. Even with a tentative release of summer 2011, it's clear the excitement is already starting to build. So enthused are we, that this fan-made trailer by Jaron from Dallas, has already started circulating among the blogs.

The trailer depicts the Castle and Firefly actor, Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan, the test pilot who takes the reigns of the emerald hero. By watching the trailer, I'm convinced he'd probably do a decent job.

Jaron, you got some serious editing chops. I give mad props to you for sharing your vision...

The One With The Excuse To Talk About Boobs

Let's be honest folks, when you see lovely lady out in public with a hot rig workin' a room, or elevator, or the grocery, or a stripper pole, or on a bench wearing a yellow bra, you eventually end up asking yourself,
"I wonder if she had to pay for those?"
Ladies, you know you do it too. Well the wacky folks at COED Magazine are prepared to help put your mind at ease. I submit to you my fellow party people...

The Breast Test.

Once you've armed yourself with this crucial social knowledge, you'll be ready to go out share it with your friends. Use it next time you're out with them. Make it a game. First one to find a "pair" wins. Confirming the realness/fakeness may get dicey but I'm sure everyone will agree it's all in good fun...

The One Where It Gets Awkward With Captain Picard

With the renewed popularity of the Star Trek franchise, I thought I share with you one of the more awkward moments in Trekker history (or would it be future?).

Oh and to be clear...

The One Where Amazing Happened

Game 2 of the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals. The visiting Orlando Magic lead the series 1-0 against the hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.

The crowd has been nervous all game as the Magic have methodically chipped away what had been a 23 point Cavaliers lead in the 1st quarter. The score is tied and The Magic have possession with under 10 seconds to go in the final quarter. Hedo Turkoglu makes a strong push towards the basket, pops up and makes a clutch jumper at the top of the key with defenders in his face. 1 second left on the game clock.

The Cavs call timeout. The fans in the Quicken Loans Arena are crushed as The Magic are now up 2 and are looking to have a commanding lead in the series as they travel back home for game 3 in the best of 7 series. This game feels over. With only 1 second on the clock, do the Cavs lay down?

"Witness"

Amazing

I'll admit, Cleveland really needs to step up their game as a team if they are going to win this series against Orlando. Their perimeter shooting has been on point and The Cavs are going to need to contain that somehow. They just can't expect King James to bail them out every game. Cleveland's back is against the wall but I'm hoping they find a way to the finals this year. Long live the King in Cleveland...

The One About Freerunning

So if you're anything like me, you have a deep appreciation for the artistry of movement. It's most commonly found in dance, like ballroom dancing or breakdancing, I also think examples of this can be seen in sports, like when Lebron James performs a reverse dunk past a defender or when Gina Carano throws a wicked high kick to her opponent's head.

Another form of movement making it's presence known worldwide is called freerunning. Inspired from techniques found in parkour, a form whose emphasis is navigating and clearing obstacles quickly and efficiently, freerunning allows the practitioner to traverse the environment how they like developing "their own way" with an ultimate goal for self improvement. This philosophy allows for the freedom to add a personal style to their movement.

Levi Meeuwenberg posted this showreel which demonstrates the awesomeness of this very interesting form of acrobatics.

More info about this style of movement can be found here.

Now if I had skills like Levi, I'd take it to the next level and add some throwing stars into the mix...

The One About Transformers 2....Kinda

So what we have here is one of the promotional stills that has been released for the upcoming film Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. The film is a follow up to the 2007 summer blockb..... Oh, who am I kidding.

This is just an excuse to post a pic of the scorching hot Megan Fox. And you know what? I'm not gonna promise that it won't happen again. That's right. That is right.

I guess while I'm showin the love I'll go ahead and share this gem from Esquire.com as well...

The One About SFIV Combos And Damage Scaling

This one's for the Street Fighter fanatics like myself. Ever notice that when performing combos in the game, the high combo count ones tend to fade in damage as it goes along? Depending on how much you're into fighting games, this effect may be something you don't ever notice. But if you are into the math that's behind the game, the good folks over at eventhubs.com have the info you are looking for. Essentially, there's some scaling effect happening as the consecutive combo hits stack up. Something to keep in mind when experimenting with those crazy to perform infinite combo loops. Get all the details here.

In other awesome fighting game news Capcom, the makers of Street Fighter IV, just announced their first mystery game that they'll be showing off at this year's E3. That game is Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars! From what I can tell from the Japanese footage I've seen, this game is another chapter of Capcom's VS series. It's another mashup of properties, this time with a popular animation company. I don't know much about Tatsunoko, but I'm eager for the game's stateside release so I can once again prove that Ryu is the best fighting game character created...

Here's some footage of high level Ryu play.

That's right party people, the G.I.Joe cartoon is coming home. No more having to settle for the bootleg copies from swap meets. Joe has gone legit. And the kicker is it's gonna have those oh so classic "Knowing is half the battle" PSA's. I can't wait. The G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Season 1.1 DVD box set is supposed to hit the streets July 21, 2009 and will retail about $30 bones. I've already got the date locked on the calendar...

The First One

Guys, I never thought I'd start my own blog....
That being said, bear with me if I don't bring anything to the proverbial "table". I'm certainly going to try to make it worth your while.

Welcome to what is going to be a window into the crazy workings of my head. I tend to be all over the place, so feel free to make use of the motion sickness bags I've conveniently placed behind the seat in front of you. I've no doubt it's going to be a bumpy ride.

I do a lot of web surfing and I recently found this and thought it was of particular note...

Needless to say, I am a fan of athletics and dance. Exceptional. I've got such a soft spot for that song too. Mad props to Ms. Felix Cane for winning Miss Pole Dance World 2009. I think it's well deserved.

And that's how I roll.
